Customer's Fault Description
The receiver in the fire is not registering the 'down' command from the remote control and is not closing the gas valve as required. Both buttons register as operational on remote, they both illuminate the LED on the remote. The receiver illuminates with the 'up' command from the remote but not with the 'down' command.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a faulty channel on the receiver. This was due to a faulty 40.5khz crystal in the receiver, this was replaced which restored full functionality.
No issue was found with the remote itself.
