This Hofmann remote arrived safely from Austria and on testing was confirmed dead.

On opening the BC386 transistor was blown as well as the IR leds and the visible red led, all were replaced which restored full functionality.  The battery terminals were also insulate due to a common shorting issue.  Please use only a brand new battery in this item on its return as battery damage may have occurred which could be the reason it had blown the components.
