This Samsung Blu-Ray controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed dead.

On opening there was a mass of liquid under the battery compartment which had leaked onto the print around the IC (see images).  This had corroded through some of hte tracks of the IC, the print was reworked which restored full functionality.
