This gold trolley controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover is loose (its retaining clip is broken), sadly a replacement battery cover is not available as a spare.
On testing the facia button array was found to be flexing, meaning that button contacts would intermittently latch.
The back of the button array was found to be cracked which was causing the issues (see image). This was reinforced using hot melt glue to give stability.
The buttons then worked as normal (albeit a hard button press is required for each button)
