Customers Fault Description : One of the spring's has broken and some of the plastic either side of the spring has broken off.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This controller arrived safely and on inspection one of the battery terminals had signs of a battery leakage.
On opening there was a mass of solidified crystallized acid over the PCB around the terminal. This had started to eat through the print but luckily hadn't cause permanent damage.
The print was cleaned of all contaminants and the effected terminal replaced.
