Marantz RC003PM Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : The Power off buttons are not working or are very slow to work (always have to try a few times). The Power on button works okay but weak. The volume up button works fine but weak. The volume up button is very slow and sometimes it doesn't work. The remote control is exactly like this rf2546 and the problems similar.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Marantz controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have sluggish / non responsive buttons.
On opening there was a mass of contamination over some of the buttons (see image). This was cleaned up but the button pad conductivity was deteriorated.
Replacement button caps were glued onto the erroneous buttons which restored full functionality.
