Customer's Fault Description
Remote will not talk to the receiver properly. Only the UP button works. Checked batteries all OK.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This fireplace control and receiver arrived safely and on testing the receiver was confirmed not to be responding on the down channel.  This was due to a faulty 40.5 crystal.  This was replaced as well as the battery terminal block which restored full functionality.

No issue was found with the remote itself.
