B&Q homebrand AC Unit Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : B&Q homebrand
Model : AC Unit
Customers Fault Description : Remote unresponsive. Corroded batteries may be the cause as the ones removed were badly damaged.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This AC unit controller arrived safely and on testing was actually found to be transmitting as per normal operation.
The battery compartment had signs on a battery leakage and there was also contamination over the pins of the main IC (See images).
After contacting the customer it was concluded that the remote did in fact have a fault as a replacement remote was used to test the AC unit.
The contamination was cleaned from the IC and terminals and the IC pins resoldered. The terminals were re-coated using conductive paint and also the Oscillator was replaced as a precaution.
The customer is to test the control full upon receipt.
