Carver Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Carver

Customers Fault Description : Seems to be a wire disconnected in the back of the remote ( i have no idea if it affects the remote) with new batteries the power light does turn on but then turns back off

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Carver control arrived safely and on testing was found to have erratic power.

On opening the control, the negative (black) wire to the power block was found to have been crimped in the case cutting through the cable (see image).  The wire was cut back to remove the break and soldered correctly into the PCB.  This restored normal functionality and the control powers one at each double power button press.

Please note the loose wire (orange one) is only meant to be connected at one end as this is the aerial.  The included batteries were disposed of as it is very dangerous to "mix" brands of batteries as this can lead to battery leakages which can be cataclysmic to any electronic device.  Replacement batteries were supplied of all the same brand

Please also note that this control will turn off after 30 seconds of non use, this is normal operation to prevent battery drain.
