Customer's Fault Description
Moved into a house with a Magiglo gas fire. Put new batteries into the remote control and receiver. Red light on remote control now lights up but there is no response from the receiver. Looks as though a battery in the receiver might have leaked in the past.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the receiver was found to be dead.
The battery compartment in the receiver was corroded from a battery leakage.
Sadly when opened this corrosion was found to have traversed onto the main PCB and started to corrode parts of the print and components (see images).
Due to the amount of damage a repair is not possible.
