Customer's Fault Description
remote works intermittently and battery compartment cover has a broken catch
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This fireplace control arrived safely and on initial testing was found to be transmitting on each button press.
After talking with the customer it was found that the item is very intermittent. Sadly this was eventually found to be due to poor connections to the IC which is encapsulated under a large mass of black resin. This has made a repair not possible as the resin cannot be removed.
Luckily we do have replacements available (see image below) this is priced at the same as what a repair would be (£20 plus postage). This was ordered by the customer.
