Customer's Fault Description
LCD Screen doesn't display normal mode. It does display OK when setting. All other aspects work OK. Normal display is just faintly visible when held at an angle.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on initial testing was found to be working as per normal operation.  Eventually after testing for about 4 days the display started to work erratically, this was found to be due to a faulty oscillator.  This was replaced and then the item tested for a further few days without issue.
