Tv will no longer turn on due to battery corrison on the remote,

This remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was loose fitting (this cant be replaced).

On testing the remote was found not to be transmitting.  This was confirmed to be due to a battery leakage which had contaminated the negative terminal (see image).  The terminal was cleaned up and replated with conductive coating.  This restored full functionality.
