Customers Fault Description : Put in new battery. Nothing works

This Temper bed remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing.
When tested the control was found to be sending a signal. After talking to the customer and diagnosing the bed response with another remote it was concluded to carry out the usual repair with this remote which included changing the oscillator and cleaning the mode switch.
As the battery cover was missing (these are not available as spares) i decided to dremel a crude replacement to help keep the battery into position (see image), please note that we dont normally carry out cosmetic repairs but in this case it was done
