This Flamerite fireplace controller arrived safely and on inspection the case was part opened and had scuff marks around the edge.

On testing the control was dead.

The battery housing was pushed in upside down which had bent one of the battery terminals out of position making no power contact.  The terminal was correctly seated and when a replacement battery was fitted the control sprang to life.
