Customer's Fault Description
This CD Player / Digital audio system doesn't respond to remote but works fine otherwise.
This audio system remote control arrived with batteries included and was found to audibly "rattle" when moved.
The problem was found to be a corroded battery terminal and contaminated print probably caused by a battery leakage at some time in the past (See bottom image).
The contamination was cleaned up and the terminal was repaired, full functionality has been restored.
