Customer's Fault Description
The display is just coming up with the background light - usually it is showing the current temperature and settings options, but nothing is showing. When I click the power button then it comes up with a backlight - nothing is on the display.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing the screen was confirmed to be dead.
On opening, when the displays ribbon cable was removed it was found to have a large amount of corrosion from contamination on its traces (see image).
The cable was reworked which restored the screens display (see testing video)
