Customer's Fault Description
Got damp and is not turning on.
<br />
On/off buttons in particular. Took it apart and dried it out and it worked but has stopped working again. Looks like corrosion on the terminal.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was found not to have sluggish response from its twin power button press.
When opened there were a few things found, the main IC had contamination over most of its pins (see image) and also the button contacts had signs of corrosion. Also the buttons themselves were worn.
The IC was cleaned and the contacts etched clean and replacement conductive pads glued into place. This restored full functionality.
