it did work before maybe the terminals need a bit of a scrape with eg a small screwdriver. might be bad connection
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Laserdisc player CLD-2950 remote control arrived safely from Lincolnshire and on testing was confirmed to be dead. The battery terminals had signs of a battery leak.
When opened there was signs of corrosion in the print (see image). The print was reworked and the terminals re-plated which restored full functionality.
