Quad 99 pre-amp Remote Repair Details

Model : 99 pre-amp

Customers Fault Description : It simply does not work - I have changed the batteries with no effect - if I look at the IR emitter with a mobile phone camera it does not appear to be transmitting and I suspect the led is not working. I have a spare remote and that works fine so there is no problem with the receiver in the control amplifier

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This HiFi audio control amplifier remote arrived safely form Devon and on testing was found to be dead.

This was found to be due to a faulty oscillator, a replacement was fitted which restored full functionality.
