Customer's Fault Description
The red button has to be pressed twice to operate the handset. It was working intermittently but now is not working at all. I have renewed the batteries but no joy.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This caravan motor mover remote arrived safely from Angus and on testing was confirmed not to respond from its double power button press.
When opened there was some surface corrosion on the button contacts, this was cleaned up but the dead issue remained. After a continuity test was carried out an open circuit was found around the middle of the PCB due to corrosion (possibly from an old battery leak). The print was reworked which restored full functionality.
