Customer's Fault Description
Battery terminals well corroded due to leakage. May be other internal damage. Remote will work very occasionally but suspect that terminals are main culprit

This Sony AV Receiver Remote control arrived safely from Loggereheads and on testing was found to be dead due to badly corroded battery terminals.
The corroded terminals were replaced which restored full functionality.
