Customer's Fault Description
Remote seems OK - red light shows for 'up' and 'down'. Down works fine but not Up.
Receiver light does not display when Up activated on remote. Following suggestion, tried a trace of contact fluid on the circuit board / wire connector interface: this worked for a few activations!
Batteries OK (changed for fresh). Date of manufacture of receiver 04/2012.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This G30 Gas fire remote control and receiver arrived safely from Llansantffraid and on testing the remote control was found to function as normal with our test receiver.
Unfortunately the customers receiver has suffered a battery leak, this leads to various possible fault including losing a channel but more importantly at any time it could turn the fire on without intervention. Due to this a repair cannot be carried out on these receivers once they have suffered a battery leak.
