The volume buttons work then sometimes don’t. UP and Down playing up but mainly DOWN.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote control arrived safely from Stanford-le-hope and on testing was confirmed to have a sluggish button response for the volume controls.

This was due to worn button contacts, replacement conductive pads were glue into place which restored full functionality.
