Customer's Fault Description
Both buttons not working, tried changing batteries 3 times with known working batteries from another device.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Dimplex remote control arrived safely from East Sussex and on adding batteries was found to be transmitting without any button being press.
This was due to the contacts of the rubber keypads decomposing and shorting the contacts (see image). The PCB was cleared of all contaminants and then replacement conductive pads glued under both buttons. This restored full functionality.
This remote was returned UGTEE APR 19th 2024, contamination over the button array was found, once cleaned up the remote worked as normal. Returned 19th Apr 2024
