The turn down/off switch faulty. Starting to only work intermittently.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Mertik Maxitrol G30-ZRHT remote control arrived safely from Okehampton and on testing was found to have sluggish button response on the up and down channel.

Both buttons were fitted which restored full functionality.
