Mertek Maxitrol G6R-H4T5 Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Mertek Maxitrol

Model : G6R-H4T5

Customers Fault Description : I noticed that the display was indicating a low battery which was replaced. After a short time the battery indicator again showed a low battery so I thought I’d used a faulty replacement battery. I changed the battery yet again and tested the voltage before fitting and the voltage was found to be 9V. Again after a short period and without using the remote to control the fire, the display was found to be blank. I tested the battery and it was down to 1.6V. It was then that I realised that the remote was draining the battery very quickly and must have a fault.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This gas fire remote controller arrived safely and on testing was found to have a faulty voltage regulator.  The regulator and battery cable were both replaced which restored full functionality.
