Sony RMF-TX300U Repair
It simply stopped working, even with fresh AA batteries. No buttons seem to be stuck, but it was not responding to commands lately without trying over and over again to press the same button "TV", "Home", "Back", etc. Now it simply doesn't work anymore. It's definitely not the TV, because I borrowed a friend's Sony remote and it worked well with my TV, so it's definitely a remote issue. I don't like the replacement remotes. I prefer the OEM remote and they are no longer available here in the States, and remote repair companies don't seem to exist here. If you can repair this one, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

Mertek Maxitrol G6R-H4T5 Repair
I noticed that the display was indicating a low battery which was replaced. After a short time the battery indicator again showed a low battery so I thought I’d used a faulty replacement battery. I changed the battery yet again and tested the voltage before fitting and the voltage was found to be 9V. Again after a short period and without using the remote to control the fire, the display was found to be blank. I tested the battery and it was down to 1.6V. It was then that I realised that the remote was draining the battery very quickly and must have a fault.
