John Lewis Remote Repair Details
This Ceiling cooker hood remote control arrived safely and on inspection was found to be totally dismantled and the case was warped from "melting"
The Positive battery terminals solder point was broken allowing the terminal to spin round away from the battery.
The terminal was re-soldered firmly back into position and then the remote re-assembled. This restored full functionality.
Unfortunately spare cases are not available meaning the case could not be replaced (the lack of spare cases is the reason we don't carry out cosmetic repairs).
The case was glued together to prevent it popping open easily again. A Duracell battery will be supplied fitted on return. Its important that when it is time to replace the battery to make a note of the batteries orientation. The reason for this is that when a battery is inserted upside down it breaks the terminal and will pop open the case if forced.
