Customer's Fault Description
Something is draining the battery fast in this remote - I have to change the battery every 4 weeks or so. Also the operating range has become very short - I have to be right near the door for it to work. One of the buttons stopped working a while ago, now it has stopped working completely, even with a new battery.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Garage door remote control arrived safely and on testing was dead.
When opened there was contamination found over the buttons and also under the RF aerial.
The buttons were replaced and the contamination cleaned up.
This restored full functionality with a strong RF signal being present at 40.685Mhz.
