Westin Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Westin

Customers Fault Description : Not sure, just doesnt work

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Extractor fan remote control arrived safely and on testing the remote would transmit as per normal operation on all buttons but the PCB was moving around inside the case.  This meant that the remote would intermittent be misaligned which would make the remote not function.

This is due to a broken PCB mounting pin, it is not known if this was broken prior to being sent to us in which case it could be the reason for the customers issues or if it happened during transit (the remote was packaged in a non padded paper envelope).

The customer was contacted to enquire as to what the actual fault was when the remote was showing its fault but details could not be established.

It was concluded to Hot glue the PCB firmly back into position to eliminate the remote from the fault factor. This was done and then a Duracell battery supplied fitted on return.  The remote was re-tested as transmitting on all buttons and the code was consistent with this model of handset.

If the remote does not effect the extractor then the customer is to try to pair the remote with the extractor fan, if this fails then the issue is most likely with the receiver itself.
