Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Sony Hard disc drive recorder remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to have many nonfunctioning / sluggish buttons.
When opened the issue was found to be due to a large amount of liquid within the remote (see image).
The PCB and button array was cleared of all contaminants and then it was found that a few buttons were non functionating due to the decomposition of the conductive pads. Replacement conductive pads were glued into place which restored full functionality to all buttons.
