Customers Fault Description : Intermittent fault. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Light sometimes comes on but fire doesn't ignite, sometimes fire doesn't go out. Have changed battery to brand new several times to check, and had gas service engineer check the fire itself. We would be grateful for you having a look at the handset which we think is intermittently faulty.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This gas fire remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to have erratic signal functionality.
On opening this was found to be due toa faulty voltage regulator. This was giving between 1 to 5 volts randomly instead of the expected constant 3.3v.
Once the regulator was replaced full functionality was restored.
