Customers Fault Description : I purchased the Gazco PR8456 at a local auction unused in mint condition in box but the remote doesnt appear to work (nothing on led dispaly. I was wondering if when you take the remote apart you can do it as carefully as possible, so I can maybe still sell it as new :)

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This fireplace remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead.

There were two issues present, the battery cable was open circuit and also there was a crack in the print (see image).  The battery cable was replaced and the crack reworked which restored full functionality.
