Customer's Fault Description
It doesn't work have changed batteries, fire flickers when main switch is turned on at wall. It did work last winter.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Electric fire remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to transmit on each button press but the send button was found to have to be pressed hard to activate the top three buttons.

This was due to worn button contacts.  Replacement conductive pads were glued under all buttons which restored normal functionality and sensitive button press response.
