Customer's Fault Description
The battery low level warning indicator on the remote control screen is always displayed even when a new battery is inserted into the device. The remote control device seems to have power from the battery as other values and icons are displayed on the remote control screen. The remote control device fails to connect with the gas fire and the fire can not be operated.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a dead battery indicator with a brand new battery.
The voltage regulator was replaced but unfortunately the issue remained. It is thought that when the voltage regulator faulted instead of giving out less than 3v it had risen up to 9v and cause a cascading effect.
Sadly, a repair is not possible in this instance.
This remote was disposed of as per the customers email request 15th Dec 2024
