Batteries leaked and damaged wiring, tried to temp fix but wires too small to solder

This Truma remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead with on of the terminal wires being internally corroded from a battery leak.
The wire was replaced which restored power. The customer is test the remote fully on return (we are limited in testing due to not having a receiver to pair it with)
