Customer's Fault Description
BATTERIES ONLY LAST FOR A WEEK OR SO EVEN IF REMOTE IS NOT USED. FINALLY THERE IS NOW NO POWER TO THE LCD SCREEN. THERE APPEARS TO BE A LOOSE BLACK WIRE INSIDE THE SET.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.

This was due to a damaged battery cable, the cable was replaced which restored full funcitonality with no noticable drain on the battery (it is thought that the damaged cable was draining the battery).

The loose wire is actually the aerial which is normal (its only connected at one end)
