Charlton & Jenrick Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Charlton & Jenrick

Customers Fault Description : This may have been dropped. It has been temperamental for a while, only working when you squeeze the batteries in, but now you are lucky if you can get the remote control screen to switch on at all and it doesnt stay on long enough to operate the fire. Manufacturer doesn't make them any more (and the fireplace itself doesn't have a mechanism to switch it on and off) so if it can't be fixed it will mean a whole new fireplace.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This Fireplace remote arrived safely and on testing was found to have erratic functionality.

One of the terminals was found to be corroded, this was etched and replated using SCP and then two of the buttons were found to be faulty.  These were replaced which restored full functionality.
