Customer's Fault Description
You have looked at this handset before and found no fault under ref 24386. We spoke on the phone and you suggested it may be an intermittent fault. I have spoken at great length to the product operations manager at purple line who says it’s good news that the buttons are sending good signals so the fault is not likely to be catastrophic (his word) but he says it sounds like a power issue on the handset, when it tries to pull a load through the handset is cutting out. He suggested it might be a good idea to put a multimeter across the circuit board to see what the power levels are but I’m probably teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here. Also is there any way to flatten the +contact for the middle battery as it seems to misalign the battery somehow
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was found to have an intermittent issue with the power, this was partially due to the LED itself breaking away from the PCB, this was soldered back into position and the PCB cleaned. The Voltage regulator was also replaced as a precaution and after a full day of testing with batteries inserted no issue could then be replicated.
