Customer's Fault Description
Remote stopped working, it wouldn't turn the fire off so it had to be switched off at the wall and now I can't get it back on as you can only turn it on with the remote.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This fireplace controller arrive safely and on testing the Heat button was non responsive and felt "sluggish".
On opening the rubber button pad was mangled and part of it was folded over covering the conductive part of the Heat button (see image).
The keypad was reworked and trimmed which restored full functionality.
