Customer's Fault Description
Remote intermittently working I.e working then nothing.
Infrared not working sending signals to amplifier to operate. Remote dead then batteries red hot .
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Denon remote arrived safely and on testing was found not to be transmitting an IR signal. This was due to a faulty IR LED. A replacement LED was fitted which restored full functionality.
There were no shorts or other damage in the control and the "hot batteries" is thought to have been due to bad batteries which happens when they break down and start emitting heat. This could have actually been what blew the IR led. It is advised to only use brand new batteries of decent quality in this control (Duracell). Any previous batteries that were inserted must be disposed of.
