Customer's Fault Description
Three problems, some somewhat inconsistent!
1. Only the 'forward' button reliably, although the others do very occasionally.
2. As soon as I press the buttons that don't work (consistently) the handset switches off. This does not happen when I press the 'forward' button.
3. We left the batteries in the remote over winter one year and they corroded. We both think this may be responsible for (much at least) of the problem.
I hope you will be able to repair the handset. The batteries are brand new.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This motor mover controller arrived safely and initially when testing struggled to turn on from its double power button press.
The battery compartment had corrosion due to the battery leak. The terminals were cleared of contaminants which restored power, then the second issue was found.
The control was confirmed to turn off when certain buttons were pressed. This was found to be due to a low resistance in the power button which would trigger a short circuit when one of the other buttons was pressed.
The power button was replaced which then restored full functionality.
