SOME BUTTONS NOT WORKING

 

This Technics stereo controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have erratic button functionality.

On opening there was a large amount of crystallized contamination (most likely from a prior battery leakage) see image.  This contamination had traversed over many parts of the PCB effectively causing resistance on the button array.

The board was given an alcohol bath to remove all contaminants and the rubber keypad was washed down.

Full functionality was restored.
