Doesn't work at all

These 2 shower remotes arrived safely and on testing both were dead.  On opening the main unit there was a considerable amount of print corrosion (see image), due to the amount of damage a repair was not possible.

The focus was then turned to the smaller unit.  This again suffered corrosion damage but luckily it was able to be repaired by reworking the print.
