Receiver not responding

 

This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the remote was not transmitting, this is due to a faulty ultrasonic transducer.  A replacement was temporarily fitted which restored functionality  to the handset.

Then the receiver was inspected and straight away it was noted that the battery block was corroded on many of the terminals caused by a battery leak.

When opened the corrosion was found to have traversed onto the main board and had started to corrode various parts of the board and components.  Due to the amount of corrosion a repair is not possible.

We replaced the original transducer into the handset as we feel that it would be best to replace both rather than repair the handset then have the customer purchase a replacement receiver.
