Customer's Fault Description
There is no output from the IR LED. New batteries have been inserted. It looks a bit corroded in the battery area. <br /> I bought a 2nd half fireplace but it was sold as fully working. I can't manually activate the fireplace on/off. It's exclusively handled through the remote control

 

This dimplex remote arrived safely and on testing the buttons were sluggish and would only repsond on a hard button press.

On opening there were 23 issues the first was that the button pads were contaminated (see image), this was cleaned up which restored easy button press functionality.

The other issue was that the battery terminals were also contaminated, these were cleaned up to prevent future issues.
