Customers Fault Description : I PREVIOUSLY SENT YOU MY REMOTE, WHICH YOU COULD NOT FIND FAULT WITH, I CALLED YOU, AND YOU INFORMED ME THAT UNDER THE FIRE WAS A RECEIVER UNIT, WIN WHICH MAYBE THE BATTERIES REQUIRED CHANGING. I LOCATED THIS UNIT, INSERTED TOP QUALITY BATTERIES, BUT TO NO AVAIL. YOU THEN SUGGESTED I MAIL YOU BOTH PARTS, TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER, WHICH I AM NOW DOING. TO SUMMARISE, I HAVE TO BE WITHIN 2 OR 3 FEET OF THE FIRE FOR THE UNIT TO WORK. IF I'M GOING TO BE WITHIN 2 OR 3 FEET, I MAYASWELL PHYSICALY TURN THE KNOB. MY AIM IS FOR THE UNIT TO BE FUNCTIONAL FROM 9 FEET AWAY,SO THAI CAN CONTROL THE FIRE FROM MY ARMCHAIR (I'M 74 YEARS OLD ) MANY THANKS PETER
This remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a limited range.
On inspection the Ultrasonic Transducer in the receiver was visibly damaged (see image), a replacement was fitted which restored full functionality.
Even though the testing video shows it working at a close range, the items have been tested upto 10 meters and work as normal.
