TO SUMMARISE, I HAVE TO BE WITHIN 2 OR 3 FEET OF THE FIRE FOR THE UNIT TO WORK. IF I'M GOING TO BE WITHIN 2 OR 3 FEET, I MAYASWELL PHYSICALY TURN THE KNOB. MY AIM IS FOR THE UNIT TO BE FUNCTIONAL FROM 9 FEET AWAY,SO THAI CAN CONTROL THE FIRE FROM MY ARMCHAIR (I'M 74 YEARS OLD ) MANY THANKS PETER
