Customer's Fault Description
Terminals inside the handset appear to have become fused to the bottom of the old battery(included). Result - nothing works.
This bed controller arrived safely and on inspection one of the battery terminals had sings of a battery leakage.
The terminal was cleaned up and resoldered, this restored full functionality. The included battery was disposed of.
